Hi guys
Sorry about this, but I've had to lock the registration for a while to try to get rid of some spammers. We've been getting around 5 "members" a day signing up that are just faux names and have ads for various drugs in them. I'll re-activate registration in a month or so.
If you're already registered you can login and post normally. This is just for new members of the forum.
You can still post as a guest if you wish. However, if the spammers start posting as well, that will be locked out, too, and we'll have to come up with a different solution. |

The forum includes email verification, but I didn't want to have to hassle users with that if we didn't have to. We'll see if banning registration for a bit helps. If not, we'll have to enable that feature. |

Email verification is not that big of a hassel, and it is only an inconvenience once. I say turn it on and let new folks register. The more the merrier

Registration is back on now for those who want to register.
About the Texas courses - There hasn't been any on the site because noone has submitted them. We aren't planning a trip to TX any time in the future, so they'll have to be submitted to get on the site.
Some key places we're planning in the coming years:
St Cloud, MN
Des Moines, IA
Highbridge, WI |

I am still planning to put some of the Dallas area courses on here, and try to get links to here on some of the Dallas area web sites thereafter. I have to get a GPS first. I already have a camera that will fit the bill.

Let me know when you guys are going to highbridge. I've got family in that area & I go there twice a year. I'd be glad to help out & play a round or two with you. |

We were there last fall, but it was too late in the season for plush green pictures. The fall colors were amazing though. Coming up the hill on bluberry's #18 and looking out over the landscape, it looked like someone had dumped Fruity Pebbles all over the hills.
We'll get up there again sometime this summer. We've got friends in that area too. We'll keep ya posted. |

The spammers are back and getting around the image verification even, so I'm going to lock down registration for a week or so and see if it relieves it like last time. |

Well, I seem to have found a way around spammers. There are a few things I'm automatically denying registration for now, so if you end up getting denied, you've typed in something a spam bot normally would. Either try again with more specific or different info, or contact us and we'll add you.
Thanks. |

I've added a security question to the registration.. I think this might do the trick. Registration is open for all.
Also, I'm going to be doing some pruning this weekend (Sunday, 10.26.06). If you've registered but have never posted anything, I will be removing the registration, and you'll have to register again if you'd like to post.
If you wish to stay registered and you have 0 posts, feel free to just reply to this thread with "keep me", or something more meaningful if you wish. If you've posted anywhere on the forums in the past, there's no need for this. You'll stay on the registered list.
Thanks

All new forum members since Oct 2006 have now been activated. Sorry for the delay, the admin messages were not being monitored properly. |

Yes, you need to answer the security question. This is our way of blocking the spammers and it's worked so far. |
