I'd be surprised if this hasn't been suggested before, but have you considered doing community ratings for the courses?

Like, we could still keep the Site rating, and we could add a 'user rating' that the common playdg user could vote on.

It's an idea we've tossed around. I actually found an example online recently that we might be able to implement. Thanks for mentioning it.
